There are certain situations regarding the plumbing of your home when you need the professionals services of a plumber. Here are three signs to look out for that may warrant a call to your local plumber.
A Pipe Bursts
If you notice flooding under your sink, in your basement, in your ceiling, or some other area where you know one of your water pipes are, it is crucial that you call a plumber immediately. The first thing they will have you do is turn off your water. As soon as they have walked you through this process and stopped the flow of water, they will then come to your house to see what the issue is. The sooner you get the water turned off, the less damage can occur to your home. The plumber will then replace or repair whatever pipe is broken within your plumbing line so that you can have your water up and running again as soon as possible.
Your Drains Are Clogged
Another sign that you need to call a plumber is if your drains are beginning to clog. This is likely due to some type of build up in your drain that has clogged the entire system. The reason why it is so important to call a plumber when his happens is because the clog will get worse and worse until your drains will not longer work at all. At this point, your skin will begin to fill up with water and you will have no way to get the water out of them. If there is a clog in your tub or toilet, this is especially bad because you can't shower or bath and you can't flush your toilet because it will flood over. A plumber will use a drain snake to initially see if they can remove the clog, and if this doesn't work, they will come in with a pressurized pump to remove the clog.
You Have Low Water Pressure
Lastly, if you notice the water pressure in your house is low, this could be due to some type of buildup in the line. This buildup stops the water from coming through the pipes at full force, and will likely get worse rather than better. Also, if you turn up the water too high, and the buildup is quite bad, then you could run the risk of bursting a pipe due to the incredibly high pressure. When this happens, calling a plumber allows you to find out exactly what is wrong and get the issue fixed before more damage occurs.
